Bellamy found innocent in 2014 Loris murder case

"An all-female Horry County jury acquitted Thursday a Loris man accused of murdering a 21-year-old Myrtle Beach man, despite testimony by a co-defendant that he did it.

Twenty-two-year-old Deterris Bellamy, also known as “D”, was also acquitted on charges of attempted armed robbery in connection with the shooting death of Dashandre Sampson, whose body was found

under the carport of a vacant home on Bennett Loop in Loris on Nov. 5, 2014.

Family and friends of Bellamy all breathed sighs of relief as the jury’s not guilty verdict was read.

Before she left the courtroom, Bellamy’s mother Paulette Macon hugged defense attorney Erin Bailey."
